Web Developer

Web Developers are responsible for front-end website development (including but not limited to responsive, eCommerce, and mobile development), content management system integration and administration.

Some back-end development and database creation/implementation may be required at times, requiring an understanding of HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, jQuery, PHP, SQL, and server-side scripting.

If you are driven by creativity and tend to think outside the box, this is the role for you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create custom website templates and themes for use and deployment within open source content management systems and/or eCommerce frameworks
  • Populate content (including text, images, databases) into websites built using open-source content management systems
  • Integrate (and in some cases, customize) third party modules and applications upon static HTML and content management system based websites
  • Build and debug website forms that operate on a variety of form processors
  • Troubleshoot and debug website and server errors
  • Proactively communicate progress and milestone completion to project leads

Requirements:

  • Practical understanding of website design and user experience best practices
  • Proficiency in HTML (HTML5 preferred), CSS (CSS3 preferred), PHP, JavaScript, and jQuery
  • Practical understanding of SQL and server-side scripting
  • Broad understanding of front-end development utilizing open-source content management systems (MODX, Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla, Expression Engine)
  • Strong communication, organization and time management skills
  • Flexibility and ability to multitask, rapidly adapt, and respond to changes in environment and priorities
